Field Trip to the Morgan Library and Museum

On two separate Friday afternoons, the Morgan Library and Museum graciously opened their doors to the interns and provided wonderful tours of both the research library as well as Morgan's library.

We started off the tours in the research library. Heidi and Inge spoke with the interns and discussed how this research library is different from our public libraries. By showing us different books in the collection, they gave us examples as to what the collection holds.

After the tour of the research facility, the interns were given a tour of Morgan's library. We learned the history of the library as well as information about Morgan's personal librarian, Bella da Costa Green.

And, due to the eruption of the Icelandic volcano, we were able to see the Magna Carta!

The Morgan is an amazing facility and we were very lucky to be given tours of the library and museum.

A huge thank you to Laura, Heidi, Inge, Janice, Lisa and Lauren for providing such a wonderful tour!

See below for a photo from our first trip.
