Join us on Saturday, May 9 for your favorite Library event of the year—the 3rd Annual Bike the Branches, now one of Brooklyn’s biggest all-day bike extravaganzas—and it’s going to be even better in 2015!

Get ready to explore Brooklyn’s cultural hubs, diverse neighborhoods, local eateries and breathtaking views and discover your network of 60 neighborhood libraries.

Enjoy a fun-filled day of biking and get your Branch Passport stamped at as many branches as you can visit between 10 am and 5 pm. Throughout the day, stop in at our branches to recharge and enjoy entertainment and exciting activities. Cap it off at the all-new Bike the Branches Block Party at Central Library from 5 – 7 pm.

First, second and third place prizes will go to adults and children who visit the most branches!

Ask your family and friends to sponsor your ride by taking our Bike the Branches Fundraising Challenge and win a BKLYN Public Library Tote Bag for raising $250 or more!

Your Bike the Branches participation directly supports BPL and helps provide vital services, programs and resources to every community in Brooklyn.

Citi Bike℠ 24-Hour Access Pass

All Bike the Branches participants ages 16+ are eligible to receive one free Citi Bike℠ 24-Hour Access Pass to be used on the day of the event – a great option for those who don't have their own bike or are interested in trying bike share. Please select the Citi Bike℠ 24-Hour Access Pass dropdown option when filling out your registration form and Citi Bike℠ will contact you directly the week before the event with instructions on how to activate the pass and use the system.

Using a 24-Hour Access Pass or already a Citi Bike℠ member? Ride the special Citi Bike℠ route and take advantage of a mobile docking station at Central Library on the day of the event.


Don't want to ride but still want to participate? You can volunteer on the day of the event, greeting visitors and stamping passports. Learn more.
